Musfira Shaffi is a mixed media artist and writer. Her practice spans digital art, autofiction, and speculative worldbuilding.
Working across text, moving image, and human-machine collaboration, she traces how technology transforms traditional practices: how dating apps become new sites for marriage, how voice messages extend ancient oral traditions, how digital archives preserve ancient rituals. Her transmedia project MUSTQBL constructs a speculative sci-fi universe set in a future mega-city, exploring the 2050 singularity through the lens of South Asian mythologies.
Her work has been included in the 89+ project founded by Hans Ulrich Obrist, and exhibited at Art Dubai, the Asian American International Film Festival, and Design Summit. It has been recognised by the BBC and Saatchi Gallery, with support from the Goethe Institut and Future of Film. She is Creator in Residence at 3RD UNIT and REALIITY, and a laureate of the Montegrappa Prize, Thalia Storyteller Award, and AI Design Awards. She holds an honours degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics.
